We use gentle movements to help decrease tension and increase mobility in joints and muscles. This approach is called the Feldenkrais Method®. Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais discovered how we can increase our awareness and learn to use ourselves differently to decrease pain and increase choices in our movement patterns. By adding movement options that utilize our whole bodies instead of isolated parts (for example, low back, neck, wrist, etc.) we can avoid overuse that leads to pain.
During your session, your practitioner will lead you through gentle movements and instruct you in exercise to do at home, including ways to increase your awareness and move with more ease while you engage in your daily activities. Your participation in following your home program is essential to get the maximum benefit from this approach; it will enable you to integrate what you have learned into your daily life.
