    Connie McGhee has taught me much about how our bodies work. Apparently, we develop movement patterns at a very early age that are not healthy. With trauma and stress, we go to primitive fight or flight tendencies to protect our bodies. These patterns of being frozen or tension-filled are not to our advantage to keep for long periods of time, because it causes us to keep from releasing tension and moving freely, which then affects the body’s ability to heal and be pain free. Nerves and muscles and joints can be damaged and abnormal, unhealthy movement patterns keep the vicious cycle going. We need help to re-learn different ways to move, release tension and find better movement patterns that may have become unfamiliar to our brain/body connection.
